~ Take a look at Isaiah 58:6-12 if you want to know more about our "vision".

The Granberrys (from left to right: Mary, Beth, Chris, Morgan, Ann Marie, David)

~ If you want to better understand the needs and struggles on the modern reservation read "On the Rez" by Ian Frazier.

~ If you'd like to understand more about the history and culture of Native Americans read "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown and/or, the sequal to "Dances with Wolves", "The Holy Road".

~ If you'd like to know more about Native Christians read "White Man's Gospel" by Craig Smith and/or "One Church, Many Tribes" by Richard Twiss.

~ A couple of enterntaining and educational movies you might enjoy are "Smoke Signals" and "The Snow Walker".

~ Everything written by Sherman Alexie (who is half Spokane Indian and half Cour de Lane) is insightful, honest, and informative. However, much of is work is very dark, disturbing, violent, and even graphic. Read with caution and selectively. Reading his work has helped me understand where folks here on the rez are coming from, what they are dealing with (in terms of "baggage") and what many native folks think and feel about white people and Christians.
